Nelson and I donated our time photographing families with a 3 month old siberian tiger. Everyone donated to this wonderful non profit educational facility located in Melrose, Florida. SINGLE VISION mission is to educate the public on the dangers our exotic wildlife face in the wild. Evidently there are 3000 of these beautiful tigers in the wild worldwide and 4000 in captivity (zoos and wildlife parks and preserves). Single VIsion cares for and offers the big cats and are active in preservation efforts. Baby “Summer” at three months weighs 30 lbs and is about 4 feet long and VERY strong and healthy. Single Vision adopted her recently and she is obviously well cared for. Photographing the various families was a challenge since like a baby human, you cannot make the tiger pose or be in one spot so I was on my knees and back following her around and then quickly encouraging the families to pose around her without spooking her. SUmmer will gain a half pound a day and at age two, will be grown to around 600 pounds. At 40 pounds, no one will be allowed to pet her. Even at 30 lbs, her strength was amazing. She would growl and hiss and pounce sometimes and we had to back away. Her paws were huge already as you can see. The hosts, Amy and Greg with their 3 year old triplet boys got to feed her a bottle of formula. Contact Single Vision on http://www.facebook.com/Single Vision/ or call 904-377-7993 for information.
