Sometimes a family member is a beloved pet. In this case Kona their beautiful and well behaved dog was a wonderful addition to the family portrait. Kona even smiled at the camera!! I try to do several family groupings for variety. We had a lot of wind so it was a good thing that the Popp family wanted a more casual portrait. That is the thing about beach portraits, you are at the mercy of the weather, the rain and wind. The week before, while walking on the beach, a stick that was buried in the sand tripped me and I had to go to the hospital for a few stitches. The Popp family had to be reschedule 3 times because of rain in September so I was thrilled that we only had rain to contend with. They were so nice to work with.
