Family portrait in conjunction with graduation

Barbra and her five children wanted to have a family milestone recorded as her oldest daughter was graduating form high school. Her kids were very shy about being photographed so I moved fast and continually changed gears to keep it interesting for them. After shooting groupings with Nicole's grad robes and some individual portraits of her and her four brothers, we drove over to the Tournament Players Club with its beautiful grounds. I think that is the hardest thing about being a photographer is making your subjects comfortable, easing them into poses and getting genuine smiles. When dealing with a group, its even harder since the timing of the smile needs to be at the same time. Giving the group instructions and getting everyone to stay focus and still have fun is key.
