Photographing a family between rain storms

Sometimes, when scheduling a family portrait, weather plays a big part is done in natural light. Even though I have a full studio at home, some clients like to have nature as the backdrop. The Spengeman family with 5 kids was a challenge since the kids are at an age that really don't care to be photographed and their lovely mom REALLY wanted this yearly portrait. The oldest is going off to college so we had only a couple weeks to schedule the session and most of those days had issues for the family so even though it rained all day, I watched for a window and raced down to Ponte Vedra to capture them. The grass was very wet so most of the shots were standing.
